Conrad’s story Zombie is out now in issue 4 of Black Static. The magazine also contains a review of his novel, The Unblemished, as well as an interview with Peter Tennant. Here’s an early comment on his story from Alvaro Zinos-Amaro of The Fix.
‘Conrad Williams’s writing kinetics make of the generically-titled “Zombie” anything but a generic or plodding reading experience. His writing, which deftly interweaves stream-of-consciousness associations, second-person narration, and sardonic reflection, is on fire… Williams’s postmodern style brought to mind the best of Chuck Palahniuk in terms of voice and rhythm.’
The British Invasion is underway, featuring Conrad’s story, Slitten Gorge.
Conrad’s story Tight Wrappers, which originally featured in the anthology Phobic, has been picked up by Stephen Jones for a reprint in Best New Horror, vol. 19.
